About

our mission

An Epic expedition in truly uncharted waters.

The Arctic is under great threat from a multitude of environmental changes induced by climate change. Maneuvering between icebergs and glaciers, the crew of Ribbing for Arctic will attempt to be the first crew to navigate through the Arctic cicle with a recreational rigid inflatable boat (RIB). Starting from the coasts of Europe we plan to reach Iceland, cruise to Greenland and then cross the legendary Northwest Passage located in the north of Canada.

During the expedition our crew will document the effects of climate change in the arctic marine environment and wildlife. At the same time , we plan to reach remote Inuit settlements along the coast and provide much needed medical and material support. Ribbing for Arctic aims to raise the awareness on the arctic problem and emphasize that climate change is the greatest threat of our century .

Ribbing for Arctic - Anthrax Machines

For Anthrax, sustainability means being conscientious and contributing where we can to make a difference. Our goal is to support efforts that inspire and motivate us. Scheduled for the summer of 2021, an inflatable boat (RIB) will make a unique voyage to the Arctic. The Ribbing for Arctic route will attempt to navigate the North Atlantic Ocean in order to reach the west coast of Greenland and afterwards try to cross the legendary NorthWest Passage, north of Canada, crossing the Bering strait that separates the coast of the American continent (Alaska) from the coast of Asia, covering a total of more than 7000 nautical miles. The Northwest Passage is the sea route that is located in northern Canada and Alaska, about 5,780 kilometers long, and connects the Atlantic with the Pacific Ocean. It is considered one of the most dangerous passages on the planet and its history is associated with shipwrecks and missing persons. Through their project they will try to show us how much we "hurt" the Arctic, the effects of climate change on wildlife, but also how small communities are struggling to maintain their traditional way of life and save their culture. Anthrax Machines is a proud sponsor of the "Ribbing for Arctic". #anthraxmachines #anthraxsportswear #ribbingforarctic ▶  More information about the Ribbing for Arctic:  https://e-ribbing.com/en/ ▶ You can support the mission by purchasing athletic clothing with the logo of the "Ribbing for Arctic" mission at: https://shopanthrax.com/eribbing ▶ More information about our actions: https://shopanthrax.com/sustainability ▶ Subscribe to our Channel for more !
